Katie first moved to Washington DC to attend American University, where she earned her B.A. in history in 2000. She spent nearly a year working at National Geographic before transitioning into real estate, first as an assistant to another top agent, then as an office manager and listings and closings coordinator for a bustling DC-based team, and now a full-time agent and partner in The Hersh Group with Long & Foster since 2015.
Katie’s vast and varied experience, gained in more than 16 years both “in the front office” working with clients and behind the scenes managing all sides of residential housing sales, make her uniquely qualified to help both buyers and sellers alike in our busy market while expertly anticipating and averting roadblocks to ensure her clients have a smooth and stress-free experience (and ideally some fun along the way!).
Katie lived in Mount Pleasant for over 10 years before spending 2 ½ years in London where she married her husband, Anthony. They now call the Takoma Park area home, where they enjoy being active in their vibrant community. A lifelong pianist and singer, Katie is an enthusiastic supporter of the Smithsonian Associates education programs and the local arts. Her other interests include kickboxing, tennis, section hiking the Appalachian Trail, and beekeeping.
